Forest and Wine
The Wine Enthusiast has just published an article from our interview about Shinrin-Yoku Forest Bathing and exploring the connection to terroir during wine tasting. You can read it here: www.winemag.com
We have been guiding these experiences in the last couple of years and truly they have been a lot of fun!
A 3-hour walk in the vineyards and surrounding forest gives an opportunity to experience re-connecting with our senses, focusing on our perception of everything around and inside us. We end it with tasting some delicious wines directly in the terroir where they grew.
Inspired by the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku, we take a moment to slow down our over-stimulated bodies and calm our minds, tune into ourselves and the world around us, right now, and see everything from a little different perspective. A moment to clear your head and awaken your creativity.
During the Shinrin-Yoku walk, our rhythm gets synchronized with the rhythm of nature in a light, playful form of short activities, with the possibility of sharing our - sometimes quite unexpected - experiences with other participants. There are many researches that describe the healing effect of spending time in nature on our health. Regular practice of Shinrin-Yoku affects how we feel mentally and physically, helps regulate blood pressure, improves our immunity by increasing the number of NK cells, reduces stress, adds new energy and inspires new ideas. But perhaps rather than measuring such immediate values, it is interesting to see how we feel after a Shinrin-Yoku walk and how perhaps a slightly different way of perceiving the details around us will affect our daily lives in the future.
Traditionally we end the Shinrin-Yoku walk with a tea and a small snack in the forest, where we have the opportunity to talk after a time spent immersed in the sounds of forest.
This time, however, we will combine this moment with a tasting of wines right in one of the vineyards where they grow. We will be able to sit for a while in the vineyard, and listen to stories of these wines, winemakers and vineyards, and taste the results of winemaking, right in the environment where the wines were born.
These are entirely OFFLINE events with limited number of participants.
